CUSHING, Iowa | Wanda R. Weber, 91, of Pella, Iowa, formerly of Cushing, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at her son's home of Van Buren, Ark.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today in Cushing Cemetery, with the Rev. Doresa K. Collogan officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Correctionville, Iowa.

Wanda Ruth Weber was born on Dec. 28, 1924, in Oto, Iowa, to John C. and Jennie V. (Coon) Pierce. She graduated from Oto High School in 1943.

On May 19, 1943, she was united in marriage to Clifton W. Weber at St. John Church near Holly Springs, Iowa. They were married for 65 years. The couple farmed the family farm in Holly Springs after Clifton returned home from the service. In 1947, they moved to a larger farm near Salix, Iowa, then moved to a farm in Cushing in 1948. They built a new home after their farmhouse burned down in 1968, doing all of the finishing work inside. They retired from farming in 1979, but continued to live on their farm for 17 years. In 1984, they built a new home in Cushing, doing the finishing work in this home also.

In 2007, she moved with her husband to Omaha to be near their son. She stayed there until October 2012 when she moved to Pella with their daughter. Then she moved in October 2014 to Van Buren with their son and lived there until her passing.

She was a member of Cushing United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also a member of the Cushing Auxiliary for 58 years. She enjoyed music, playing piano, playing cards and feeding all of the stray cats in Cushing.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Arvin) Roose of Pella, and Dr. Harlan (Eva Mae) Weber of Van Buren; grandchildren, Terri Wildt of Des Moines, Mechelle (Bob) Sparks of Ankeny, Iowa, Melissa Bullington of St. Joseph, Mo., Cullen John (Natasha) Weber of Van Buren, and Austin Weber of Van Buren; great-grandchildren, Chantelle, Joseph and Bethany Wildt, Eric Davenport, Alex Rosch, Eli and Riley Weber; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Helen Weber of Rapid City, S.D.; nephews, Larry Pierce of Sioux City, and Ken Weber of Thornton, Colo.; and niece, Karen Kahre of Huron, S.D.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Earl and wife, Genevieve Pierce.
