Danbury, Iowa- Mabel Bumann, 89, of Danbury, Iowa died Thursday, October 11, 2001, at Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek, Iowa. The funeral services for Mrs. Bumann was on Monday, October 15, 2001 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa. Pastor Kurt Saboe officiated. Visitation was on Monday, October 15, until service time at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Burial was in Morgan Cemetery at Schleswig, Iowa.

Mabel Christine Bumann was born November 8, 1911, at Schleswig, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Catherine Elizabeth (Sochau) Bumann. She grew up and was educated in the area. Her life’s work was in farming which she did for nine years near Schleswig before moving to her farm near Danbury.

Mabel served in Soldier Township Country School #3 as School Director for nine years.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Bumann, who lives on the home farm near Danbury.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents.
