Heart Attack Is Fatal: Purchased Firm Here 10 Years Ago
Hugh C. Douglas, 59, jeweler, died Sunday at his home, 1822 Summit Street, after a heart attack.
Mr. Douglas established the Douglas jewelry here 10 years ago after purchasing the Wissing-Anderson firm. He began in the jewelry business with his father when a boy.
He was born at Onawa, Iowa, April 21, 1884. He married Edna Polley at Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1914.
Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Stauch and Hortense Douglas, both of Abilene, Texas; a son, Private John A. Douglas in the army and a sister, Miss Mary Fessenden, Mercedes, Texas.
Mr. Douglas was a member of the First Congregational church at Onawa.
