SIOUX CITY | Judith L. Kuta, 72, of Sioux City passed away after battling cancer Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. Donald Ries officiating. Burial of her cremains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a rosary at 3:30 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Judith was born on Sept. 16, 1943, in Columbus, Neb., to Carmen and Lucille (McCloskey) Cregar. She graduated from St. Bonaventure High School and went on to graduate from Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney, Neb. with a teaching certificate. She taught for a while before starting her family and being a stay at home mother.

Judith was united in marriage to Richard Kuta on Oct. 12, 1963, at Creighton University Church in Omaha. She re-entered the workforce with employment at Security National Bank. She then worked at the Teachers Credit Union (Sioux Valley Credit Union) for many years until she retired.

She enjoyed working around the house and gardening with her husband. She always treasured spending time with her grandchildren the most and loved her family deeply. Her husband always called her "Lucky" when she played the slot machines in her free time. She was involved with PTA as member and president, Girl Scouts, and other school activities. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Judith is survived by her husband, Richard Kuta of Sioux City; two daughters, Debie (Scott) Chambers of Goodyear, Ariz., and Christine (Bob) Kleinschmit of Sioux City; and four grandchildren, Gabi and Braeden Chambers, and Max and Alex Kleinschmit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brad Kuta; and a brother, Pat Cregar.
