15 October 2015SIOUX CITY | Bernard F. Bock, 87, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, a local nursing home.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Radiant Life Community Church, 423 George Street, in Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Bernard "Bernie" Bock was born on Feb. 20, 1928, in Moville, Iowa, the son of Hans and Mable (Boland) Bock. He graduated in 1945 from Hinton (Iowa) High School and then served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1947 until honorably discharged in 1950.
Bernie married Phyllis Corder on June 29, 1951, in Sioux City. They moved to San Diego, Calif., where Bernie worked in the milk service industry. He was district manager for the Nestle Company when he retired. In retirement they moved back to Sioux City in 1991 and built a home in Riverside.
Bernie is survived by a sister, Grace (Gene) Becker; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth L. Bock; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis on March 24, 2003; his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Louise Wilkerson, Ardis and Ed Gray, and Clara and Jim Engelbrigtson; and one brother, Paul Bock.
