15 October 2015SIOUX CITY | Lovice M. Munson, 88, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at a local nursing home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Lovice was born on Feb. 28, 1927, in Sioux City to J. Orien and Ardess (Aronson) Scott. She graduated from Central High School in 1945.
She was united in marriage to George Raymond Munson on April 22, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1971. Lovice worked as a transcriptionist for St. Luke's for 20 years.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Lovice was a very selfless, caring person who was always helping others.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Dianne (Ed) Foster of Greeley, Colo., and Gary (Sue) Munson of Sioux City; grandchildren, Nicholas (Annette) Foster of Greeley, Erica (Jack) Corona of Greeley, Reid Foster of Fort Stewart, Ga., and Tom Munson of Sioux City; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Henry of Foley, Minn., and Beverly Volkert of Sutherland, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Albert, Kenneth, Charles, and Paul Scott; and two sisters, Ruth Miller and Carol Scott.
