Mary Lou Jorgenson, 74, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Private services and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mary Lou was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Baltimore Township in Michigan.

She married Warren Jorgenson in 1948 at Battle Creek, Mich. and then moved to Sioux City. She later married Wendell Shearer in 1959 at Sioux City. Mary Lou lived most of her life in Sioux City. She worked for many years as a teacher in the Sioux City Public School System.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Dana Jorgenson and his wife, Nancy, of Sioux City, Chris Jorgenson and his fiancee, Jisele Combs, of Sioux City and Kory Shearer and his wife, Amy, of Littleton, Colo.; three grandchildren, Christopher Ash Croft, Greg Jorgenson and Alexis Shearer; a sister, Myra Jasper of Clarkdale, Ariz.; a nephew, Randy Seppala, of Lakeworth, Fla.; an ex-husband, Wendell R. Shearer, of Sioux City; and special friends, Iris Rocha and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren Jorgenson; two sisters, Beverly Seppala and Yvonne McGawn; and a son, Mark Jorgenson
