Daniel Frank Tournier, 90, of Sioux City, formerly of Auburn, N.Y., went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, in Sioux City.

Private graveside services will be held in Auburn at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Daniel was born on Dec. 20, 1913, in Auburn, N.Y. to Daniel A. and Emma A. (Fisher) Tournier. Daniel grew up and attended school in Auburn. He entered the U.S. Army during World War II, serving state side.

Daniel married Beulah Clute on Dec. 13, 1934, in Auburn. She passed away on May 27, 1998, in Sioux City. Daniel worked as a stock clerk for the Cayuga County Highway Department for many years. He also enjoyed many activities after his retirement. Daniel loved to operate his ham radio, his call number being WB2EUO. He received many cards from other ham radio operators across the U.S. Daniel also enjoyed reading and gardening, especially growing his tomatoes.

Daniel will be sadly missed by his loving family including his daughter, Patricia and her husband, Kenneth Jongeling, of Sioux City; their children, Mark Jongeling of Sioux City and Spc. Matthew Jongeling, serving in Iraq; great-grandchildren, Brian and Ashley of Auburn, N.Y.; grandson-in-law, Brian Bell, of Auburn; and his daughter, Jean Czubat and her husband, Roderick, of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; and their daughter, Melissa Czubat.

In addition to his wife, Beulah, he was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Emma; a granddaughter, Susan Danielle Bell; and a sister, Jessie Boggs
