Clara Mary Porsch, 93, of Sioux City died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Laurice Streffeler officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Christy-Smith Larkin Northside Chapel.

Clara Mary was born on Nov. 11, 1914, in Sioux City, the daughter of Thomas and Gertrude (Varty) Hull. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident. She attended Lowell Grade School, North Junior High School and Central High School.

On Jan. 14, 1932, she married Lloyd Porsch in Elk Point, S.D. She had lived in the Leeds area of Sioux City for over 60 years. Lloyd died on May 12, 1990, in Sioux City. Clara worked in the school lunch program at North Junior High School.

She was a longtime member of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church and was a past president and treasurer of the Joy Circle at the church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and crossword puzzles. She was also a member of the bell choir at Northern Hills Retirement Apartments. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a loving, caring woman.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Tom H. and Bonnie Porsch of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Clara Marie Porsch of Storm Lake, Iowa; four grandchildren, Mike and Lori Porsch, Cathy and Mark Fordyce, Randy and Lisa Porsch and Mark Porsch; and great-grandchildren, Chad and Eric Porsch, Tara Fordyce, Josh and Nikki Fordyce, Brad and Molly Fordyce, Alyssa, Nate and Jake Porsch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Darrell; a son in infancy, Ronald; a grandson, Brad Porsch; a sister, Dorothy Morse; and a brother, Leslie Hull.

Pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren
