SERGEANT BLUFF -- Mary P. Trudeau, 85, of Sergeant Bluff passed away on Monday, Dec. 24,

2007, at a local nursing facility.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Mary was born on Oct. 6, 1922, near Sergeant Bluff, the daughter of Nick and Lucy (Lenz) Topf. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1941. She then attended business school in Sioux City, and worked over the years at various businesses as a bookkeeper.

She was united in marriage to Hubert Trudeau on Dec. 27, 1947. They farmed in the Salix, Iowa, area. Hubert died on April 12, 1992.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois and her husband, Mark Swenson of Sioux City; two sons, Edward Trudeau and his wife, Terri of Olathe, Kan., and Donald Trudeau of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Nick, Natalie, Sarah, Angela, Sam, Rachel, Dan and Mollie; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Julian; a sister, Patricia and her husband, Lee Hanssen of Missouri; six brothers, Lawrence Topf and his wife, Eileen of Sloan, Iowa, Joe Topf and his wife, Ann of Carroll, Iowa, Don Topf and his wife, Liz of Illinois, Maurice Topf and his wife, Linda of Sergeant Bluff, Dennis Topf and his wife, Kathy of Colorado, and David Topf of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,; a son, Richard; and two brothers.
