John L. Bray, 56, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2007.

Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home in Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

John was born in Sioux City to Robert and Frances Bray. He graduated from Central High School and received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Briar Cliff College.

He owned and operated a Hush Puppy shoe store in Sioux City before pursuing a career in health care. He worked tirelessly in the health care field for 25 years and at one time was honored as the Kansas Administrator of the Year.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Catherine of the home; his parents, Robert and Frances; daughters, Alice (Cory) of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Katherine of Sioux City, Lisa (Dan) and Jennifer (Steve) of Omaha, Trish (Bill) and Kathleen of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Jean, Janet, Mary (Tim) and Lisa (Richard); three grandchildren, Jade, Dylan and Drew; and numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard; and a sister, Linda.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
