Correctionville, Iowa—Robert Charles Wiegert, 76, of Correctionville died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, with the Rev. Consorcia A. Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley, Iowa, City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mr. Wiegert was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Leigh, Nebr. the son of Charles and Margaret (Wilkens) Wiegert. He graduated from East High School in 1939, and moved to California. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He returned to Pierson, Iowa, where he ran a grocery store with his parents.

He married Lorraine Martin on May 26, 1947, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple moved to Correctionville, where he was a mechanic for several years. He retired in January 1997. He enjoyed flower gardens.

Survivors include a brother, Dale of Bakersfield, California; a half brother, Howard Paulson of Orange County, California; a sister-in-law, Jean Wiegert of Spencer, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dean.
