Leslie H. Tresham, 87, of Hornick, Iowa, died Sunday, January 12, 1992, at the Countryside Nursing Home in Sioux City, Iowa, where he had resided since August 1991.
He was born in rural Hornick on June 17, 1904, the son of Ivan and Nora (Cox) Tresham. He graduated from Hornick High School in 1922. He married Lottie Claus on January 24, 1926, in rural Hornick. The couple farmed at Hornick until moving into town in 1966. They were well know collectors of cut glass.
Mr. Tresham was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hornick, Attica Masonic Lodge 502, AF&AM of Sloan and Scottish Rite Bodies and Abu Bekr Shrine Temple of Sioux City. He was a past member of the State Savings Bank Board and Woodbury-Monona County Ditch Board.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter and her husband, Gwendolyn and Robert McKelvey of Jefferson, South Dakota; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Maurice; and a nephew, Floyd.
Services were held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 14, 1992, at the United Methodist Church at Hornick with Rev. Karen Dearchs officiating. The organist, Mrs. Wanetta Steinhoff, accompanied the vocal soloist, Mr. Jack Steinhoff, in the selections “In The Garden” and “Beyond the Sunset”.
Casket Bearers were Dennis McKelvey, Robert Dietrich, Dean Unkel, Elwood Seybold, Jack Ryan and Doug Bosse.
Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
