Lauren G. Bultje, 70, of Sioux City died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Reformed Church, with the Rev. Robert R. Wallinga officiating. Private graveside services will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Bultje was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Butte, S.D., the son of Albert and Dena (Star) Bultje. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Mary A. Wesseling on Nov. 15, 1956, in Aurora Center, S.D. The couple farmed near New Holland, S.D., from 1956 to 1972. They then moved to Sioux City, where he owned and operated the Town & Country Motel for 26 years. He retired in 1997.

He was a member of Morningside Reformed Church and enjoyed bowling and playing the organ.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronald and his wife, Tami of Colorado Springs, Colo., Rowdell and Daniel, both of Sioux City; and four grandchildren, Brett, Tara, Rebecca and Emily.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
