Milo P. “Mike” Schnee, 74, of Sioux City died Monday, October 19, 1998, at Matney’s Westside Manor following a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Allen D. Call, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Schnee was born August 5, 1924, in Alton, Iowa, the son of Alphonse and Mary R. (Gansamer) Schnee.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe.
He married Shirley K. Wells on February 1, 1947 in Ireton, Iowa.
He was a longtime Sioux City resident. He was employed as a sheet metal worker with several local businesses.
He was a member of Sheetmetal Workers Local 3 and Soo Cycle Club.
Survivors include his wife; four sons and their wives, Richard and Susan, Ronald and Linda, Randall and Kathy and Robert and Cindy, all of Sioux City; two daughters and their special friends, Kathleen Geesaman and Roger Mohr and Laurie Schnee and Robin Capers, all of Sioux City; a brother, Clarence of Duluth, Minn.; three sisters, Gladys Kontz of Beardsley, Minn., Carol and her husband, Clayton Wheeler, of Vermilion, S.D. and Ann and her husband, Jack Hansen, of Two Harbors, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
