Kinzie P. Wiggins, 81, of Sioux City died Sunday, June 28, 1998, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Donohue Sarff of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Monahan Post 64. There will be no visitation. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wiggins was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Ida Grove, Iowa, the son of Louis K. and Ida B. (Buss) Wiggins. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946, where he was a telephone operator and a cook’s helper. He served in the Army Reserves from 1946 to 1952.
He was employed with Armour and company, The Sioux City Journal, Swift and Company and then Rosenthal Foods. He was a former member of the National Rifle Association.Survivors include a nephew and his wife, Ray and Pam Nanek of Jefferson, S.D.; two nieces, Pattie Doerstling of Darien, Ill., and Carol Nanek of San Mateo, Calif.; an aunt and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Orville Wiggins; and a sister, Bernice Nanek.
