11 January 1996Dakota City- Lillian B. Leonard, 87, of rural Dakota City, died Monday, Jan. 8, 1996, at a South Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Dakota City with the Rev. Nathan Houfek officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m., with the family present after 7 p.m. at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.
Miss Leonard was born Nov. 10, 1908, in South Sioux City, the daughter of William and Sophia M. (Nelson) Leonard. She was a lifelong resident of Dakota County. She lived on the family farm and was a homemaker for her brothers and cared for her mother until her death.
Miss Leonard was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three nieces, Barbara Ohlsson, Ardith Davis and Dorothy Butzin and two nephews, Harold Hansen and John H. Jones.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, H. Eugene and Clarence; and three sisters, Mabel Jones, Carrie Croxell and Myrtle Hansen.
Pallbearers will be Merlin and Kevin Chambers, Billie and Robert Ohlsson, James Warner and Mark Heffernan.
