SIOUX CITY | Nancy L. Sar, 70, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Swanson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Nancy was born on Feb. 8, 1945, in Washington, D.C., to Robert and Helen (Metcalfe) Lisk. She graduated from Marshalltown High School and from Iowa State University. She was united in marriage to Jeff Sar on Oct. 28, 1972, in Vermillion, S.D. She was a homemaker raising her two children.

Nancy had a great love for horses and took great pride in raising and caring for her horses over the years. She also had a special place in her heart caring for the many stray animals that crossed her path. She also enjoyed reading. She was a past volunteer for STARS.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Sar of Sioux City; daughter, Megan (Onur) Gursoy of Tampa, Fla.; son, Robert (Amber) Sar of Clive, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Westin and Quinn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be sent to the Siouxland Humane Society.
