Sandy was born May 28, 1950, in Sioux City. She was the daughter of Elmer and Colleen (Schumacher) Mammen. Sandy grew up in Correctionville, Iowa, and graduated from Correctionville High School. Sandy at one time was a life guard and a beautician. She later had a career in the health care industry for over 25 years. (Good job, Mom). She was able to touch many people’s lives and families with her great shoulders to lean on.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles that no one else could solve, board games, reading, watching the food network (but not cooking anything) and spending time with the family. She also excelled at being an unbiased judge for her granddaughters' dance routines.

Survivors include her son, Timothy Brown (Beth) of Minneapolis, Minn,; three brothers, Teddy Mammen (Karen), Tommy Mammen and Torry Mammen, all of Correctionville; her sister, Shar Fogelman (Dennis) of Correctionville; five grandchildren, Nataley Brown, Cooper Brown, Shayley Parks (Dennis), Hillary Bowman and Tanner Holtz; and three great-grandchildren;

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; and her longtime partner in crime, James Fueston.
