WESTFIELD, Iowa | Thomas F. "Tom" Everingham, 40, of Westfield, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.

Abiding by his wishes, cremation has taken place. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Tom was born April 9, 1973, in Sioux City, the son of Thomas R. and Betty (Noonan) Everingham. Tom attended Akron-Westfield (Iowa) schools until eighth grade. He graduated from Sioux City Bishop Heelan High School in 1991. Tom attended the University of Nebraska for three years. He graduated from Briar Cliff University with a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry, and a minor in ornithology.

Tom married Christy Hartz, the love of his life, on July 26, 1997, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Tom and Christy made their home in rural Westfield.

Tom started his sales career at Gateway and moved on to medical sales. His favorite job was working for Health Tronics Shock Wave Company. This job allowed him to travel the United States with his family and his co-pilot, Koko, his black Labrador. Tom enjoyed his work and the relationships he made along the way.

Tom lived for the outdoors and loved to hunt white tail deer, duck and geese. His favorite hunt was pheasant so he could treat his Labradors. He made special trips for antelope and wild boar hunting. He enjoyed teaching his daughters how to identify birds and fish. Tom loved his family and they cherished the short time they had with him. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife, Christy of Westfield; two daughters, Hannah and Michaela; his mother, Betty Everingham; mother-in-law, Nona Hartz; brother-in-law, Matt (Wendy) Hartz and their daughter, Estelle; sister-in-law, Sara (Brad) Britton and their children Julia and Parker; and many cherished aunts, uncles and cousins, especially his Uncle Jim from Beverly Hills, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his father, Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Gill, Nathan Lloyd, Jeff Lahr, Cole Knapp, Matthew Knapp, Pat Burchard, Dan Ryan, Bill White, Sean Keenan, Joe Prince, Rob Nelson, Dan Dean and John Stanek
