28 December 2000Victor Irby Spaulding, 85, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in Des Moines.
Prayer services will be 7 p.m. today at Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Spaulding was born July 31, 1915, in Sioux City, the son of Charles and Mabel (Selby) Spaulding. He attended Sioux City Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army.
He married Dollie Martsfeld on April 9, 1960, in South Sioux City. He was employed as a yard foreman with Shoneman Lumber in Sioux City. His wife died Dec. 8, 1999.
He was a former member of Elk Point Country Club and enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Richard and Christine of Urbandale, Iowa, and James and Liz of Alverado, Texas; a daughter, Pam Carroll of Sioux City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel and Ruth; and two brothers, Orville and Jim
