17 March 1999Ward R. Bourret, 77, of Missoula, Mont., formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Community Hospital in Missoula following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Florence Carlton Community Church in Missoula, with the Rev. Gary Moore officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Stevensville, Mont. Arrangements are under the direction of Whitesitt Funeral Home of Missoula.
Mr. Bourret was born in Sioux City, the son of Lawrence and Helen Bourret. He graduated from a Sioux City high school, then attended the University of Nebraska.
He served in the U.S. Naval Air Force during World War II.
He married Clara Mae "Teddy" Sohl in 1944. The couple moved to Missoula in 1951. They moved to a ranch near Stevensville in 1971 and returned to Missoula in 1995.
He was employed with the University of Montana for 33 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristy Bourret of Missoula and Mary and her husband, Ron Snedigar, of Stevensville; a granddaughter, Sara Snedigar; and a sister and her husband, Muriel and Frank Griffith of Stevensville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society of Missoula or Florence Carlton Community Church.
