Harry M. Larson, 82, of Sioux City died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morningside Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Roger Graf officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Larson was born March 23, 1916, in Sioux City, the son of John and Hannah (Anderson) Larson. He attended Joy and Cooper elementary schools, East Junior High School and graduated from East High School in 1935.

He married Florence Rhodes on Dec. 31, 1941, in Sioux City. He attended business college and was employed with Sioux City Dental Laboratory for 20 years. He was co-owner and operator of C and L Dental Laboratory until 1960, when he became supervisor of the denture department of Prodenco Dental Co. He retired as a certified dental technician in March 1978.

He was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church, where he served on the board of trustees and was a deacon. He was a member of Session and served as a teacher in the church school and superintendent. He was named Morningside Presbyterian of the Year in 1975. He was active in the Boy Scouts and was a scoutmaster for Troop 208. He received the Silver Beaver Award from the National Council of Boy Scouts of America in 1968. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hiking.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Eric and Sara Sue Larson of Homer, Neb.; four grandsons, Micah Larson, Dan, Tom and Steve Loofe; two great-grandsons; three sisters-in-law, Myrtle Larson of South Sioux City, Marian Larson of Sioux City and Frances Feddersen of Bloomington, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers, Louis and Melvin; and two sisters, Leneah Coffey and Signe Brown.

Memorials may be directed to Morningside Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Siouxland.
