Max Timmons, 56, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Friday, April 9, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Donald C. Cameron II of Third Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home in Sioux City. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Cooper Cemetery, also known as Crowder Cemetery, at Whiteville, Tenn. Graveside arrangements are under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar, Tenn.

Mr. Timmons was born March 14, 1943, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of John Max and Pauline (Gee) Timmons Sr. He received his undergraduate and masters degree from the University of Memphis. He was a certified public accountant.

He married Dianne Parker on July 16, 1967, in Whiteville, Tenn. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1977. He was employed as an auditor and treasurer with Terra Industries for 15 years. He was then employed as an internal auditor with Wells' Blue Bunny Corp. of Le Mars, Iowa.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John at home; a sister, Gale Evans of Memphis, Tenn.; stepmother, Mary Timmons of Whiteville; a brother-in-law, Stan Parker of Jackson, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Martha Parker of Whiteville; and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Anne Randall.

Pallbearers will be Tom Rooney, Larry Rinnan, Bill Skrie, David Voss, Mark Sisley, Ray Schroer and Don Puckett.
