Hazel Irene Potts, 99, of Sioux City died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Schiller of Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Visitation will resume from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Hazel was born Feb. 3, 1909, in Hartington, Neb. She was raised in Cedar County, Neb., then moved to Yankton, S.D. She then moved to Sioux City.

She married Arden D. Potts. He died and is buried in St. Joseph, Mo. After her marriage to Mr. Potts, they moved to St. Joseph, Mo. She returned to Sioux City in 1982. She then lived in Sergeant Bluff for 11 years before returning to Sioux City. She was a homemaker, housewife and worked in restaurants and cafes.

She was a member of Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff. She enjoyed embroidering and sewing. She was a senior companion and like to play bingo.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Clifford D. and Dolly Mann of Sioux City; a daughter, Doris Knudsen of Sioux City; a stepson, Jack D. Potts of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Roy Eiseley of Sergeant Bluff, Levi Eiseley of Sioux City and Loyd Eiseley of Nevada; a sister, Elsie Powell of Washington; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Eugene H. Mann and Richard W. Mann; a daughter, Shirley O. Sparks; and eight brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Mark, Scott, Richard, Jeff, Danny, Jason and Jesse Mann
