SIOUX CITY | Maxine Henshaw-Cisney of Sioux City entered into eternal life Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Maxine was the daughter of LeRoy and Agnes (Paul) Yates. She was raised in Sioux City.

She married her high school sweetheart, Don Henshaw on Sept. 2, 1942, and to this loving union of 43 years was born a son, Ronald. When Don returned from the service with the U.S. Marine Corps, they owned and operated the So. Soo. Banana market for 22 years. After his death in 1985, she went work for I.B.P. inc. as a property accounting clerk for 12 years.

Maxine married Paul Cisney in 1990 and they later divorced. She went back to work part-time at the Woodbury County Community Action Agency as a receptionist and assistant administrator. She also worked at Western Iowa Tech Community College, Social Security office and the Girl Scout office. She retired in 2011.

Left to honor her memory is her granddaughter, Shanna Kay and Richard Barton of Moville, Iowa; grandson, Brian Henshaw of Ida Grove, Iowa; great-grandson, Tom Barton of Kingsley, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Jennis Henshaw of Correctionville, Iowa; several nieces and nephew; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; her son, Ronald; two brothers, Edward Yates and his wife, Anna May, and Gilbert Yates and his wife, Mina Mae; and sisters, Isabelle Posmanski, and Adele Garris.
