MOVILLE, Iowa | Marian M. (Miller) Steffen, 79, of Moville passed away on Sept. 25, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. Barb Spaulding officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.

Marian was born on Jan. 18, 1935, in Bonilla, S.D., the daughter of Howard and Dorothy (Huse) Miller. She attended school in Lawton and graduated from Moville High School.

On June 7, 1953, Ernest and Marian were united in marriage in Moville, where they spent their entire lives farming and raising turkeys.

Marian had a strong love for her family and lived to care for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for cooking and would feed anyone who walked through her door. Marian’s kind heart touched many lives whether she was buying blankets for everyone or caring for all of her cats.

Marian’s gentle spirit will be remembered by her four sons, Jerry and his wife, Vernell, Gary and his wife, Terri, Larry and special friend, Chris Howrey, and Steven and his wife, Kimberly; and one daughter, Susan and Steve McElrath, all of Moville; 13 grandchildren, Jason and Megan Steffen, Jamie Steffen, Jerra and Bryan Kilker, Jeren Steffen and fiance, Robyn Christensen, Nicole and Shawn Watson, Jami Hofstatter, Whitney and Corey Lloyd, Taylor McElrath, Cory Steffen, Eric Steffen, Sidney Steffen and Jacob Steffen; nine great-grandchildren, Ella and Isaac Steffen, Ben and Zach Steffen, Kilee, Kennen, Ellianna, and Lincoln Watson, and Calan and Maylee Lloyd; three sisters, Betty Rhue, Nadine Clark and Deanna Logan; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Mansfield.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Steffen; two sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law
