SIOUX CITY | Robert A. "Bob" Fletcher, 86, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at the Floyd Place in Sergeant Bluff.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Episcopal Church, 1308 S. Cleveland Street, in Sioux City, with the Rev. Stacey Gerhart officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Robert Alvin Fletcher was born on April 9, 1928, in Sioux City, the son of Willis and Olive (Barton) Fletcher. He married Jeanetta Mary Johnson on Sept. 5, 1947, in Sioux City. Within that communion of marriage were six children. Jeanetta died in 2003. Robert married Vergene Stockland on April 2, 2004, and they resided in Akron, Iowa. Robert worked for the Sioux City Railroad and retired from the Sioux City Stockyards.

Robert was a man of many talents. He enjoyed oil painting, singing, dancing and playing different musical instruments. He played in the band at the South Sioux Senior Center on Friday nights. He also was on the pool league at the Senior Center on Tuesdays. He and Vergene loved baking, bingo and loved being together in the sunset of their lives.

Robert is survived by his children, Teresa and her husband, Dennis Krontz of Muskegon, Mich., Lucille Borchgrevink of Sioux City, and Bradley Fletcher of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Stephanie Krontz, Jeanetta Kelly and William Scott; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Kelly and Jesse Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanetta Fletcher; an infant daughter, Jeanetta Fletcher; his daughter, Donna Ayers; one son, Robert Fletcher Jr.; and his second wife, Vergene Stockland-Fletcher.

We will truly miss Robert, who so enjoyed life
