CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa | Wanda J. Jacobs, 93, of Correctionville passed away on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at the Correctionville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Correctionville.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church of Correctionville, with the Rev. Marv D. Siems officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery of Correctionville.Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville. Wanda J. Jacobs was born Feb. 9, 1921, to Marie (Olsen) and Fred Ashmore in Cushing, Iowa. She attended school in Cushing and Correctionville, and graduated from Correctionville High School in 1938.

Wanda was united in marriage to Clifford Jacobs in February of 1940. To this union, two children were born, John and Barbara. After marriage, Wanda worked with her husband to establish their insurance agency and bookkeeping and tax preparation business in Correctionville. After Clifford’s death in 1972, she continued operating the business until her retirement.

Left to cherish Wanda’s memory are her children, John Jacobs Sr. and wife Gayle of Correctionville, and Barbara Rowse and husband Tom of Correctionville; grandchildren, John "Buck" Jacobs Jr. and wife Nancy, Robert "Bubba" Jacobs and wife Nancy, Susan Durrenberger and husband Scott, Elizabeth Rowse, and Carmen Martin and husband Todd; seven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fred Briese; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two infant granddaughters; and in-laws, Fred and Sadie Jacobs, Wayne and Wilma Jacobs and Doris Briese.

The family would like to thank the intensive care staff at Mercy Medical Center for the care given to Wanda.
