SIOUX CITY | Richard J. Doyle, 82, formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Sept. 20, 2014, in Bluffton, S.C., of pneumonia.

Memorial services will be held in Bonita Springs, Fla., on Oct. 20. A second service will be 11 a.m. Nov. 29 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Indianapolis. Arrangements are under the direction of Low Country Cremation Services and Burial in Charleston, S.C. Condolences may be sent online to www.lowcountrycremation.com.

Richard J. Doyle was born on May 8, 1932, in Sioux City, son of Frank and Marie Doyle. A graduate of Bishop Heelan High School in 1950, he attended Kansas City University and proudly served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He completed the advanced management program at both The Dartmouth Institute at Dartmouth College and Harvard University.

He had a 33-year career at Borg-Warner, retiring in 1988 as president/CEO of Borg-Warner Automotive. Former owner and board chairman of Fisher Electric in Kansas City, he also served 20 years as a director of Modine Manufacturing in Racine, Wis. At Briar Cliff College, he established the Richard J. Doyle Leadership Award 25 years ago, the Richard J. Doyle Computer Center and was awarded an honorary doctor of business administration degree in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Ertley); children, Dan (Eileen) Doyle, Michelle (John) Komar, Marie (Scott) Lowe, Cindy (Tom) Wadelton and Ricky (Cortnee) Doyle; his grandchildren, Katelyn (Ben) Fox, Kristin and Jonathan Komar, Tara, Christina and Tommy Wadelton, Nathan and Matthew Lowe; four stepdaughters; and six step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie Doyle; daughter, Victoria; and sister, Patricia (John) Read.
