CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa | Nancy Flemming, 82, of Correctionville, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.

A celebration of life service was held Sept. 19 in Correctionville. Arrangements were with Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Nancy was born Jan. 26, 1932, in Sac City, Iowa, to Jessie (Griener) and William J. King. She graduated from high school in Sac City, and from nursing college at St. Luke's College of Health Sciences.

She married Ramon J. Flemming in 1955 in San Diego, Calif. Ramon passed away April 8, 2004, in Correctionville.

Ramon's naval career afforded the Flemming family the opportunity to live in many naval cities, including Adak, Alaska, San Diego, Bethesda, Md., Ridgecrest, Calif., and Omaha, Neb. After Ramon retired from the Navy after 20 years of service, the family moved to Correctionville.

Nancy was a stay-at-home mother for many years. After raising three boys, she got her nursing degree and worked as a hospice nurse.

Survivors include her brother, William "Bill" King of Iowa; sons, Brett Flemming of Oregon, Michael Flemming of California, and Daniel Flemming of Colorado; grandchildren, Jeff Flemming of Hawaii, Danica Flemming of Colorado, and Erin Flemming of California; and great-grandchildren, Christian and Kasey Flemming of Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ramon Flemming; and sisters, Lois and Jackie King.
