10 April 1936Mrs. Mary Malinda Compton, 68, 205 Market street, died Thursday in a hospital here following a short sickness. She had been a resident of Woodbury county for 44 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Westcott-Doughty-Chandler funeral chapel with Rev. G. D. Serrill officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park cemetery.
Mrs. Compton was born at Perrysville, 0., in 1867, and came to Woodbury county 44 years ago.
She was a member of Ben Hur lodge.
Survivors include her widower, William F. Compton; two daughters, Mrs. Alva Rogers, Sioux City, and Mrs. Bessie Quinn, Chicago; three sons, Wilbur and Elmer of Sioux City, and Lee of Cleveland, 0., and 11 grandchildren.
