10 April 1936Word has been received by relatives here of the death Tuesday in Gainsville, Fla., of Paul Barcus, 53, formerly a resident of Sioux City. He had been in poor health for several years.
Mr. Barcus was born September 2, 1882, in Blencoe, Ia. He was a member of the police department here from 1907 to 1914, going from here to Pipestone, Minn., where he entered the automobile business. He joined the army during the world war and was overseas for a year.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Barcus; two brothers, Dr. J. C. Barcus of Sioux City, and James E. Barcus of Los Angeles, Cal., and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Kidder of Omaha.
The body is expected to arrive here Monday.
Funeral services will be held here and burial will be in Blencoe.
