OTO MAN TAKES LIFE WITH ROPE
Body of Ted McKenna Found Hanging in Barn
Hanging from a rafter in a barn, the body of Ted McKenna, 55, of Oto, was found Thursday afternoon by McKenna's brother, George McKenna disappeared Wednesday afternoon and was believed to have hanged himself some time Wednesday night.
Ted McKenna, with two brothers, George and James, lived together in the town. All three were engaged as laborers but Ted had not been employed recently.
In an effort to find his brother Ted, George Thursday afternoon went to the barn and searched it. The body of Ted was found hanging in the hayloft. A halter rope was used by Ted in taking his life.
Dr. Gebrge E. Reinker of Oto was called to the scene and the coroner notified. Dr. Reinker said that Ted had not been despondent recently and had been in fair health.
No note was left by the suicide and no motive for the act has yet been revealed. The victim was born in Woodbury county and lived here all his life. He was not married.
