28 July 1988Vivian L. Moir, 77, 801 Eighth St., died Tuesday, July 26, 1988, in a Sioux City hospital after a short illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Westlawn Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rex Wentzek officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today in Meyer Brothers, Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Moir, the former Vivian L. Semple, was born Jan. 18, 1911, in Westfield, Iowa, and grew up in the Akron, Iowa, area. She attended General Beadle College (now Dakota State College). She married Roy E. Moir Sept. 9, 1930, in Sioux City.
The couple moved to Sioux City in 1932. He died June 20, 1981, in Sioux City.
Mrs. Moir was a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church. She did volunteer work for Matney Westside Manor. She received the State of Iowa Governors Volunteer Award in 1986 from Gov. Terry Branstad.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Denton "Denny" and Lou Moir of Bloomington, Ind.; three grandchildren, Lora Lee Hensel of Rockford, Ill., Steve Moir of Columbus, Ind., and Marcus Moir of Bloomington, and a niece, Connie Abelson of Bellevue, Wash.
A memorial has been established in her name with Westlawn Presbyterian Church.
