Beverly L. Uhl, 65, of Sioux City, died Monday, Oct. 30, 1995 at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. and a rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Larkin Morningside Funeral Home. It will be a closed casket.
Mrs. Uhl was born May 19, 1930 in Sioux City, the daughter of Albert and Bessie (Harder) Jansen. She was raised in Hinton and attended Hinton High School. She moved to Sioux City as a teenager and attended East High School. She married Laurence H. Uhl Dec. 30, 1947 in Sioux City. She worked as an aide at the Countryside Nursing Home and she worked with handicapped children. She was an organ donor at the time of her death.
Mrs. Uhl was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church. She was also a member of Carmelite Guild.
Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Linda and her husband, Wayne Dominowski of Le Mars, Iowa, Jeanne and her husband, Rick Epling of Canton, S.D., Barb and her husband, Mark Michaelsen, Kathy Weibel, and Sandy and her husband, Michael O'Brien, all of Sioux City; two sons, Gary and his wife, Mary of Sioux City and Jeff of Columbus, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Alberta Harbeck of Sioux City and Carol McKnight of Texas; a step¬mother, Mildred Jansen of Wisconsin; a stepsister, Doris Harding of Wisconsin; and a stepbrother, Frank Bakken of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Phyllis Williams; a daughter, Susan; and a son, Greg.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. A memorial has been established in her name.
