Harry G. Johnson, 87, 2536 S. Cypress St., retired farmer, died Thursday, July 13, 1989, in Countryside Retirement Home after a brief illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel with the Rev, Arthur K. Beumler of Morningside Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson was born March 20, 1902, in Bronson, Iowa, son of Conrad E. and Emma (Anderson) Johnson. He graduated from Bronson High School in 1923 and attended Iowa State Teachers College (now Northern Iowa) at Cedar Falls for one year. On Oct. 3, 1928, he married Kathryn B. Kingsbury in Sioux City. He farmed near Bronson for many years and also was employed as a feed salesman for several years. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1986.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Conrad C. of Sioux City, Howard E. of LaVerne, Calif. and Donald H. of Norwalk, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Dean (Mary) Schager of Sioux City and Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Alcorn of Walnut Grove, Minn.; a brother, Clarence (Ted) Johnson of Everett, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Dale (Pearl) Beeghly of Pierson, Iowa; 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
