Sister Maureen Doyle, OSM, 72, 3721 Ridge Ave., Immaculate Conception School teacher, died Wednesday, July 12, 1989, in Scunthorpe, England, of an apparent heart attack while visiting.
Services and burial will be in Scunthorpe. A memorial service will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City at a later date.
Sister Doyle was born July 23, 1916, in Dublin, Ireland. She entered the Servants of Mary
in October 1938 and took her final profession of vows in June 1945. She taught school at Omaha, Denver, Detroit, Cherokee, Iowa, Fairview Heights, Ill.; and most recently at Immaculate Conception School since 1980.Survivors include a brother, Michael Doyle of Scunthorpe; a sister, Mrs. Babs O'Connor of Scunthorpe; a niece, Mrs. Richard Morrissey of Wexford, Ireland; a nephew, Michael Murphy of Stanford, Conn.; many nieces and nephews in Ireland; and sisters of The American Province of the Servants of Mary.
A memorial scholarship fund has been established in her name for students of Immaculate Conception School for Heelan High School in care of Servants of Mary Convent, 3721 Ridge,Ave., Sioux City 51106,
