Funeral Services Held Monday For William Dorale
Funeral services for William H. Dorale, 95, of Lawton, were held Monday November 21, 1988 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton. The Rev. Marvin Suhr officiated. Interment was in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton, under the direction of the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley.
Carman Klein, organist, accompanied the Congregational Hymns "Jesus, Lover Of My Soul," "Asleep In Jesus" and "Nearer My God To Thee."
Casket-bearers were Messrs. Darold Miller, Bernard Washburn, Bernard Zenor, Raymond Peters, Calvin Dorale and Arden "Lefty" Anderson.
William Henry Dorale was born November 22, 1892, in rural Ricketts, Iowa, the son of Louie and Christina Dorale. He grew up in the Ricketts area and moved to Wyoming as a young man where he was a rancher. He moved back to the Ricketts area and married Emma Krueger on February 22, 1917, in rural Ricketts. They farmed there, then moved to the Lawton area where they farmed for some 40 years before retiring.
Mr. Dorale was a charter member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He held numerous church offices including being an elder for several years.
Mr. Dorale died Friday November 18, 1988 in a Sioux City hospital.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Wayne of Kingsley; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Schmidt of Riverside, California, and Mrs. Olga Burns of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother George, and a grandson Gordon.
