Funeral Services Held Thursday For Luka Mrla

Funeral services for Luka Mrla, 99, of Moville, retired farmer, were held Thursday September 21, 1989 at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville. Monsignor W. B. Bauer officiated. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City, under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville.

Millie Wycoff was organist. She accompanied musical selections sung by the church choir.

Casketbearers were grandsons: Mark, Louis, Scott, Terry, John and Steve Mrla.

Mr. Mrla was born September 10, 1890, the son of George and Matelda Mrla, in Canac, Yugoslavia. He came to the United States and to Chicago in 1910. He married Mary Ivanusic June 12, 1921, in Chicago. The couple moved to rural Lawton in 1932 where they farmed until 1961 when they retired and moved into Moville. Mrs. Mrla died July 21, 1984, in Sioux City.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville.

Mr. Mrla died Monday September 18, 1989 in a Sioux City hospital of brief illness.

Survivors includce two sons, George and Bill Mrla, both of Lawton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
