Funeral Services Held Friday For Geneva Bradshaw
Funeral services for Geneva Crawford Bradshaw, 89, longtime Pierson resident, were held Friday September 1, 1989 at 10:30 a.m. in the Pierson Christian Church. The Rev. Les Larson officiated. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery at Pierson under the direction of the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley.
Mr. David Todd, organist, accompanied Congregational Hymns "I'll Fly Away" and "Beyond The Sunset."
Casketbearers were Messrs, Jack Burright, George Hardie, Lawrence Todd, Chris Weinreich, Bill Hardie and Vern Knudsen.
Mrs. Bradshaw, the former Geneva Hardie, was born December 19, 1899 in Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of David and Mary Jane Martindale Hardie. She graduated from Pierson High School in 1916. She married Odin L. Bradshaw on April 8, 1919 in Pierson. They farmed north of Pierson for many years, and then moved to town. He died in 1970.
She was a member of the Pierson Christian Church and sang in the church quartet for many years.
Mrs. Bradshaw died Monday, August 28, 1989 in a Sioux City hospital.Survivors include a son, Vinton of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter, Lola Knudsen of Pierson; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Genevieve Church, and two sisters.
