Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Floyd Steinhauer, 64, who passed away at her home near Climbing Hill Sunday, after a long illness.
The services were in the Climbing Hill Baptist Church with Rev. M. L. Metcalf of Sioux City and Rev. Kenneth Pedersen of the Climbing Hill church officiating. Burial was in the Climbing Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Steinhauer was born November 2, 1882, near Blencoe, Ia. At the age of one year she came to Woodbury County on March 16, 1909, she was united in marriage with Floyd J. Steinhauer of Sioux City. The family had made their home in the Climbing Hill vicinity for a good many years. She was a charter member of the Baptist Church there, and had been superintendent of the Sunday School for 18 years and a teacher of the Bible Class.
She was a past president of the Ladies Aid and the P. T. A., a former 4-H Club leader and Farm Bureau member.
Survivors besides the widower are two sons, Ralph and Keith, both of Climbing Hill; five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Walterson of Berkeley, Calif., Miss Helen Steinhauer and Mrs. Helen Blankenship, both of Sioux City, Mrs. Gladys Counts of Nelson, Calif., and Mrs. Marvel Jahn of Moville; two grandsons and two granddaughters.
