Funeral Services Held Friday For William B. Cox
Funeral services for William B. Cox,85, of Moville, were held Friday, July 17, 1987 at 10:00 a.m. in the Evangelical Church in Moville. The Rev. Vernon Aarnes officiated. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, under the direction of the McCulloch-Wavrin Funeral Home of Moville.
Mrs. Jan Hansen, soloist, sang "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Wanda Carrier was organist.
Casketbearers were Messrs. Wesley Iseminger, Elzey Parrish, Vernon Felton, Orville Solomon, Gary Brown and Don Stusse.
Mr. Cox was born April 16, 1902, in rural Danbury and lived near Hinton as a child. His first wife, Louise K. Peters, died in 1975. He married Ninobell Brown February 16, 1980, in Moville. He farmed near Hinton until 1935 when he moved to a farm near Moville, where he farmed until 1955.
From 1955 to 1975 he farmed near Anthon and then retired to Moville.
He was a member of Evangelical Church of Moville.
Mr. Cox died Tuesday, July 14, 1987 in a Sioux City hospital of short illness.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Clifford of Moville; two brothers, Emmett of Burnsville, Minnesota, and Jay of Hutchinson, Minnesota; four sisters, Mrs. Herman (Mildred) Peters of Sioux City and Mrs. Orville (Maurine) Solomon of Sioux City, Mrs. William (Darlene) Geurin of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Mrs. Alex (Masel) Brown of Anthon; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Art Fi (Gertie) Dahlman and Mrs. Erwin(Grace)Stusse.
