Memorial Services Held For Bethel Gilbride

Memorial funeral services for Bethel F. Gilbride, 71, of Salt Lake City, Utah and formerly of Pierson and Moville, were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 1989 at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary at Salt Lake City. Mrs. Gilbride died June 6, 1989 in Salt Lake City. The body was cremated. Graveside services will be Friday, June 16, 1989 at Brookings, South Dakota.

Mrs. Gilbride, the former Bethel Bramson, was born December 18, 1917, in Soldier Township, daughter of Edward T. and B. Frances (Groom) Bramson. She attended school in Pierson and graduated with the Class of 1936. She married Francis John "Bud" Gilbride March 31, 1941, in Chamberlain, South Dakota. He was the state and farm editor of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader from January 1950 until his death in 1971. She spent several years in Moville as a housekeeper at the Rectory of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and later attended WIT and worked as a Word Secretary at a Sioux City hospital. She had since lived in Colorado and Salt Lake City, Utah.

Survivors include a son, Francis M. Gilbride of Azle, Texas; two daughters, Melody Knudsen of Salt Lake City and Kristey Nelson of Lincroft, New Jersey; six grandchildren; a brother, Robert Bramson of Moville and a sister, Gloria Vannorsdel of Nevada, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David.

A memorial has been established in her name with the American Cancer Society.
