26 December 2000Felma L. Kottman, 72, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Paul Louis Arts officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Mrs. Kottman was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ernest J. and Blanche L. (Miller) Rich. She graduated from East High School in 1946. She received her teaching certificate from Briar Cliff College. She married Maurice J. Kottman on July 22, 1950, in Sioux City. He died June 13, 1995, in Sioux City.
She taught school in Spencer, Le Mars and Sheldon, Iowa for a few years. She was a member of the Sioux City Women's Club, the Humane Society Auxiliary, and the Welcome Wagon Club.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Mary and Randy Benton of Le Mars; a son and his wife, John and Rozanne Kottmann of Omaha; a brother and his wife, DeWayne and Margaret Rich of Sioux City; and a granddaughter, Sarah Benton.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Calvin Rich; and a sister, Catherine Rich.
