Funeral Services Held Saturday For Pauline Tscherter
Funeral services for Pauline Tscherter, 71, of Moville, former Kingsley resident, were held Saturday, April 30, 1988 at 10:30 a.m. in the Congregational United Church of Christ in Kingsley. The Rev. Leola Allen officiated.
Interment was in the Kingsley Cemetery under the direction of the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley.
Ruth Pratt, soloist, sang "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace" and "Beyond The Sunset." Elaine Bohle was organist.
Casket-bearers were Messrs. Laurel Cliff, Gary Peters, Leonard Plendl, Jack Bowman, Lyle Pratt and Max Vannorsdel.
Mrs. Tscherter, the former Pauline Bainbridge, was born July 31, 1916, in rural Kingsley the daughter of Frank and Ethel Vannorsdel Bainbridge. She attended rural schools and graduated from Union Consolidated School in 1934. She moved to Kingsley in 1949 and worked for several years as a telephone operator for Central Telephone Co. She married Frank Wright in 1967. They made their home in Moville. He died that same year, 1967. She married John Tscherter in 1971. He died in 1985.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and had served as church clerk for more than 30 years. She was a member of Moville Federated Woman's Club and Elkhorn Woman's Club.
Mrs. Tscherter died Wednesday, April 27, 1988 in a Sioux City hospital.
Survivors include a brother, Lee of Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. Joe (Helen) Day of Washington, D.C.; two nephews; a niece, two stepsons, Donald Tscherter of Sioux Rapids and James Tscherter of Des Moines; two stepdaughters, Marvel Lang and Keith Jordan, both of Sioux City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Melvin.
