Geraldine O'Boyle, 79, 2110 Summit St., died Sunday in Holy Spirit Retirement Home after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis Meinen will officiate. Nurses will stand honor guard at the church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery at Carroll, Iowa. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. in Berkemier Funeral Home.

Miss O'Boyle was born March 31, 1908, in Vail, Iowa. She graduated from St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City in 1930. She worked in private duty nursing for a number of years and then was a staff nurse at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, retiring in 1972 after 45 years of nursing.

Miss O'Boyle was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Confraternity of the church, St. Joseph School of Nursing Alumni, the Carmelite Auxiliary and Catholic Nurses Association.

Survivors include a sister, Lillian O'Boyle of Sioux City, and a foster daughter, Mrs. John (Miriam Ann) Jackobs of Dayton, Ohio.

A memorial has been established in her name with Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel Building Fund.
