26 December 2003Helen L. Klein, 96, of South Sioux City, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Del Olivier of Augustana Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Klein was born Jan. 6, 1907, in Sioux City, the daughter of Fielden and Amelia (Pfaff) Atchison. She was a long time resident of Sioux City.
She married Robert L. Klein on Dec. 19, 1931, in Dakota City. Previously, she had been employed with Johnson Biscuit for several years. Mr. Klein passed away Sept. 19, 1977, in Sioux City.
She was a professional bowler for many years. She loved to knit and crochet and she enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by a daughter, Kay K. Ford of South Sioux City; five grandsons, Scott Ford of Sioux City, Kirk Ford and his wife, Deborah of Houston, Texas, Brent Ford and his special friend, Angie Maffit of Sioux City, Troy Ford and his wife, Liz of Sioux City and Chris Ford of Laguna Beach, Calif.; and two nieces, Sue and her husband, Robert Osterholm of Omaha and Bonnie Vandyke of Florida.
She was also preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
