18 December 2003MOVILLE, Iowa -- Pauline F. Stubbs, 88, of Moville died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Moville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold E. Werley officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.
Pauline was born July 26, 1915, in Anthon, Iowa, the daughter of Prince and Mabel (McFarland) Harshfield. She attended country school in Anthon and moved as a young girl to Lawton, Iowa, where she graduated from Lawton High School.
She was united in marriage to Gordon Stubbs in 1933, in Vermillion, S.D. Together, they spent the rest of their lives in the Lawton and Moville area. She worked as a clerk at the Lawton Post Office for 26 years, until her retirement in March 1976. Gordon died Nov. 17, 1992.
She was a member of Moville United Methodist Church and the Moville Senior Center. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards and quilting.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Steve and Evelyn Stubbs of Moville; a daughter, Juanita R. Thomas of Omaha; a daughter-in-law, Mary Stubbs of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Rex and Faye Harshfield of Castor, La.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jack Stubbs; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Roberta.
