PIERSON, Iowa -- Andrea Jean "Andie" Phillips, 13, of Pierson died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, of injuries suffered in a snowmobile accident.

Joint services for Andie, her sister and two friends will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kingsley-Pierson School gymnasium in Pierson, with the Revs. Bill Cotton of Pierson Methodist Church, Thomas J. Topf of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kingsley, Cecil Dale of Kingsley Baptist Church and Duane Miesner of First Lutheran Church, Kingsley, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Kingsley Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.

Andie was born Aug. 8, 1990, in Sioux City, the daughter of Darwin and Jackie (Kovarna) Phillips. She was a "straight-A" student. She loved reading her books, playing with her cousins and her dogs. She was involved in choir, jazz choir, she played the trumpet in the band, played the piano and was involved in dance, tap, jazz and clogging. She played volleyball and was a member of the Pierson Handy Helpers 4-H Club.

She attended United Methodist Church in Pierson. She enjoyed going on vacations with her family. She collected angels and teddy bears. She wanted to be a lawyer when she grew up.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Darwin and Jackie (Kovarna) Phillips; a sister, Jenna at home; maternal grandparents, Howard and Marjorie Kovarna of Merrill, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Claude and Martha Phillips of Pierson; aunts and uncles, Jean (Kovarna) Larson of Sioux City, Doug and Rhonda Kovarna of Hinton, Iowa, Albert and Barb Phillips of Spencer, Iowa, Vicky and Ron Hiemstra of Springfield, Mo., and Chuck and Cheryl Phillips of Apple Valley, Minn.; 10 cousins; seven great-cousins; and many friends and seventh-grade classmates of Kingsley-Pierson School.

Memorials may be directed to the Phillips Memorial Fund established for the family of Andie.
